As a parent of a teenager, I'm glad I found these tips. I'm already seeing results. I was able to apply the suggestions almost instantly. The audiobook suggests that even 5 minutes of one on one time is beneficial. The trick is to avoid negative confrontations when suggesting, like leaving their phone and not bringing it to the dinner table. The conversation starters in this book are great. I found all of them helpful. However, I have noticed that timing is everything. The sections on positive praise are good, but I found this doesn't always work based on their mood. With a little practice and using the tips outlined in the audiobook, you can master the mysteries of your teenager. Highly recommended.

I found this audiobook very interesting. Sometimes you didn't realise the generational gap exists until you try to communicate easily with teenagers. I have friends with teenagers and this guide provided some useful guidance on how to start conversations on their level. I'm not great at small talk with teens or adults alike, so this audiobook really helped to give me some confidence going forward.

I had no idea that such a book existed. This book is a life saver. We have 2 teens and sometimes there are days when it seems there has hardly been any interaction with them. My wife got this book and she was laughing when she showed it to me. I was intrigued by the title. When I listened to the book, it made so much sense that I started to take notes! The author Cece Collins has been a Residential Social Worker in a Teenage Residential Assessment Facility and she brings her wealth of experience in this book. The wonderful narration of Teena Katz compliments the thoughts of the knowledgeable author.

What I loved about the book is that:-
- The author knows what she is talking about. The book is filled with practical advice which the parents & guardians of teens can avail of in their day-to-day life,
- After having read the book a few times, I can safely say that the author's underlying advice in a nutshell is to 'Show & Have Respect' towards your teens. I loved the quote 'Dealing with teen is hard but, Being a Teen is harder too!! I never thought like that.
- Some of the useful practical advice mentioned are: Have 5 Minutes 1 on 1s with your teen, Giving them your full attention, Giving them Positive feedback and being Genuine in all interactions with teens!
- The 7 Key Rules of Engagement are wonderful & they work!
- How to read a Teen's Body Language is Insider knowledge 🤫
- The best part is the 284 Conversation Starter Questions and how to use them, amazing stuff. Passing the book alone in the dinner table and everyone chooses a question! What great fun!!

I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to every parent of a teen.

This audiobook does extremely well to teach parents how to improve communication with their teens through face to face conversation, something which seems to be dwindling somewhat in today’s technological revolution. In improving conversations, it teaches you to bond better and have a better overall relationship. The book is as detailed as containing conversation starter scripts that you can use. Highly recommend

Didn't know what to expect with this book, but found it to contain detailed advice about how to communicate with teenagers. As a mother of a thirteen year old, communication is not easy at times, but this book has given me many examples of how to open the lines of communication. Most importantly this book emphasises the importance of respect when communicating with a teenager and this is something that can be lost when tensions are high. Brilliant book!

Awesome guide for anyone wanting to better their relationship with their teen. Additionally, if you want to bring your child on a car ride or vacation this is an awesome book to listen to for conversation starters. There are not many books on audible on this but it's almost like this book is tailored made for this topic. I highly recommend.
