Summary
When the cards are stacked against you, the Kings will even the odds.
Former Special Forces medical sergeant Russell “Red” McKinley knows a thing or two about wounds, like the fact some can take a lifetime to heal, if they heal at all. The scars Red carries run deep, and living with PTSD often means battling the memories of his past. Injuries he received while working an executive protection case with fellow Kings and co-owners of Four Kings Security have once again forced past heartaches to the surface, but Red is determined not to let it derail his blossoming romance with sweet and sexy fashion photographer Lazarus Galanos.
Laz can’t deny there’s something special developing between him and Red, but Laz has wounds of his own. He’s hesitant to jump into a new relationship after his recent explosive breakup. Experience has taught Laz to doubt his judgement when it comes to men. Guys who seem too good to be true usually are, and no one appears more perfect than Red.
When an attempt is made on Laz’s life, Red is determined to keep him safe. Laz may not be a client, and Red is still off duty, but Laz is one of their own, and nothing means more to the Kings than family. While an investigation is underway, Red and Laz are growing closer, but can they find a way to help each other heal and take a chance on love, or will their fears and insecurities cost them more than their future together?

Fabulous
Red and Laz is the second book in the King series. We get to know both MCs and the other Kings. It a great to listen to audible with the humour you enjoy from this author .Greg Boudreaux really gave it depth and his sense of fun did this justice.

Red & Laz's Story, Great Performance by Boudreaux
Be Still My Heart is Red and Laz’s story, and the second in Charlie Cochet’s Four Kings Security series. Since I did this whole series out of order I can guarantee, this is truly a standalone series. Grab any one of these books and dive right in - you’ll be glad you did.
Watching these big, burly, slightly damaged guys find their mates has been an extremely enjoyable experience for me. Hey, hunky bodyguards? It’s always a winner. Plus, nobody can do a love connection quite like Charlie Cochet. She adds in enough action, drama, and humor and it’s all balanced perfectly. The stories are creative and well written, and the romances work!
Narrated by Greg Boudreaux, his performance throughout the entire series has been excellent. He raises the bar with his wonderful accents, and creates so many different voices for the extensive variety of characters Ms. Cochet puts forth in these books. One of my top go-to narrators, Mr. Boudreaux’s performance is perfect.

Love these guys
After getting a taste of Red and Laz in the previous book I couldn't wait to get started on their story and promptly hit play as soon as I could download it. This book didn't let me down. Red is the epitome of big protective strong teddy bear and Laz was the perfect sweet loving counter part for him. I was so happy to see these 2 together. There were some great twists and turns at the end and never a dull moment! I loved getting to see all the other guys from Kings again too and can't wait for the next one to come out!

Steamy sequel
Red is a sweetheart and Laz is potty mouth. So much dirty talk. These two had chemistry in the first book and now Laz's life is in danger things really kick off between them.
Excellent narration.

Seeing Red?
This is Book 2 in Charlie Cochet's wonderful Four Kings Security series and should be read after Book 1 - Love In Spades where we initially meet the Kings, Colton and Laz, as well as various other interesting secondary characters.
Greg Boudreaux does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and relating the ongoing tale of Russell McKinley (aka Red, King of Hearts) and talented up-and-coming fashion photographer Lazarus Galanos (Laz) who meet in the first book.
Their tale picks up a couple of months after the end of book 1 in the series where Red was injured on duty protecting Colton Connolly, who is now CEO of Connolly Maritime after his father has finally retired after signing the new security contract with Four Kings Security. He is now just about fully recovered, but Laz has disappeared from his life, so their friends step in and meddle, all but forcing the two to talk.
When the two meet again at a beach fashion shoot, it's a case of ducking flying bullets and running for cover. It becomes apparent that Laz is the target and Red manages to save his life yet again.
The Kings step in to protect the young man who they consider to be family because of Colton's big brother relationship with Laz as well as Red's feelings for the beautiful photographer.
Red is still on leave, so he offers to be Laz's shadow while they work on developing their burgeoning relationship. Both struggle with issues of trust after traumatic incidents from both their pasts surface, and also after failed relationships that imploded due to trust, or lack thereof. Will the two manage to get it together, or will they both be left seeing red?
I recommend you read/listen for yourself and find out.

As Always As nice easy listen
Another fantastic series from Ms Cochet. Have to say didn’t guess this ending on this one(I usually do). Good plot twist, nice to see the rest of the gang and a good set/up for the next book. Greg’s narration as always is brilliant, however I do think he needs a putt more range. Some of the characters sound the same, but still a good easy listen.

I want a Red!!
What a great story, there is so much going on and it’s very fast paced.
Greg does an awesome job of narrating and even with so many characters is very easy to understand who is who.
I absolutely loved Red, he has his issues but is a big teddy bear, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for Laz.
Also great to get some more banter from Ace, he’s by favourite King so far.

Good follow up to book one
After listening to book one I couldn’t wait to see what Charlie Cochet had in store for Red the King of Hearts from Four Kings Security and Laz (Lazarus) Galanos, an up and coming fashion photographer.
Especially after their explosive and dramatic meeting in book one.
It isn’t essential that you read or listen to Love in Spades : Four Kings Security Book One to enjoy or follow book two but I would recommend it to fully appreciate all the characters, especially Laz’s point of view.
Greg Boudreaux is in my top three of all narrators and his narration is as usual flawless. Each character is easily differentiated and his timing and inflection are perfect.

Another great story!
This is another great story in the Four Kings Security series. Once again there is danger, drama, laughs, hot sex, and sweet connections. There are also plenty of twists and turns in the mystery to keep you guessing. The two MCs have their share of insecurity, communication issues, and prior hurts that they need to overcome if they want to be together.
The narration is great. Good accents and a variety of voices for the different characters.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author and have voluntarily left this honest review.
