Summary

London is dead!

Two months ago, billions of people were killed by a deadly germ. Days later, they rose up again in massive numbers. Since then, cities worldwide have become rat-infested, germ-filled hellholes, ruled by the living dead.

There are 300 survivors grouped together in the shadows of the Tower of London. On one side, the river Thames. In all other directions, nothing but the undead.

With so many mouths to feed, food is at a premium. But if they can make it through winter, they'll have a shot at long-term survival. They have no choice but to scavenge the ruins of apocalyptic London to survive, but with every building they strip, every street they clear, they risk enraging the vast hordes of the undead that have them surrounded.

It's a delicate balancing act - fight to survive but avoid an unwinnable, all-out war.

And yet, there may be another option...

Autumn: Inferno is the second book in a standalone trilogy set in the nightmare world of David Moody's international best-selling Autumn novels—the original epic British zombie saga.

Good listen

Found this book to be better than the first one. Much easier to keep track of characters. Brilliant narration.

Wow!

A great follow up to the first book in this series, prepare to be shocked, have your stomach turned upside down and for a sleepless night! ☺ The Autumn books are excellent and I look forward to the final episode in this trilogy. Aubrey Parsons once again excels as the narrator, this man just gets better as do David Moody's stories. Highly Recommended.

London Burning!

An excellent second book to the series. There is very little ‘down time’ and the story just keeps going and going. Knowing the area well that sets the scene, I was impressed with the detail and I could picture many of the scenes as if present, which just added to the overall sense of impending doom. Great narration, Aubrey Parsons is quickly becoming a personal favourite.

Please don’t leave it too long for part 3!

They do it again

Once again narrator Aubrey Parsons brings the 'Autumn world' of David Moody to a vivid state of life considering it is surround by so much death. Moody again makes us care about the characters and add a few nice twists and turns. Once you read or listen to Inferno you will get the sense something very special is coming.

Harsh realities in an apocalyptic fantasy.

Well, I got through that too quickly!

The story of our survivors inhabiting the area surrounding the Tower of London picks up from 'Dawn' and sees them dealing with less resources, and an upcoming winter. A closed-minded leadership and the encroaching hordes create a tinderbox waiting for a spark.

As much as I'd like to find a reason for removing stars, I cannot legitimately think of one. Dave's writing and storytelling continues the high standards previously set, and Aubrey's reading of the novel deserves the utmost praise (I can only hope he becomes a staple part of the series).

If you have never read one of David's novels, I thoroughly recommend you try this series; and if you have, feel safe in the knowledge that nothing disappoints here.

Pretty good

I did not, initially, find this as captivating as the original series, but as it progressed I became more engaged. Some of the characters are particularly grating, especially Dominic and Piotr who are both asking for a punch in the face in my opinion, neither of them listen to reason and I'm baffled as to why anybody even trys to talk them round, they are all the more entertaining for that.
Recommended to all Autumn fans and to any stray zombie fans.
Narration is good as usual.
