Summary
They say that every tragic hero has a fatal flaw, a secret sin, a tiny stitch sewn into his future since birth. And here I am. My sins are no longer secret. My flaws have never been more fatal. And I've never been closer to tragedy than I am now.
I am a man who loves, a man whose love demands much in return. I am a king, a king who was foolish enough to build a kingdom on the bones of the past. I am a husband and a lover and a soldier and a father and a president. And I will survive this.
Long live the king.

Grab your tissues!.. Not just for the tears!
I loved this series, the story is so beautiful.
It is just an amazingly well written closure of a dreamy fairytale, if you’re looking for any sense of realism you won’t get it here, it is just hot and heart breaking.
I literally finished and immediately listened to the whole trilogy again. There is a lot of sex in this book and it too is well written. This was the first time I’ve read a book with m/m and wow... Scorching!
Poor tortured Embry is my favourite character and when I heard his full name I nearly broke down... sigh
I admit I’m a sucker for any Arthurian adaptations but this trilogy is quite frankly the best so far.
The male narrator is dodgy but it didn’t really spoil the story for me... his narrating voice is fine but sadly Ash’s character voice does sound like Bull Winkle. And I’m not sure why he dumbs all the double Ts because it seems like he does it on purpose? Maybe a narrators trick to stop the pops.

So good
Amazing, I loved every minute of this series. Damn they really had to go through a lot of pain and heartache before their HEA but it was all worth it.

a retelling like no other
listening to the audiobook of this was so well done I highly enjoyed the performance.
the story was paced so nicely and I highly liked how with ASH we got to know him more and how the way he is has been deep seated in him way before he was ever created, that his past molded his future in a way that was always out of his control.
their was a reference in the book about Ash comparing himself to the goblin king out of labyrinth, and I loved how that peek into his early teens resonating over the lines said by David bowie at the end of labyrinth saying to the character sarah - fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave....open up the book is such a way that when u hear ash explain the meaning about what it says and means to him, to me opened up the book is a new light gave u insight into a personality that the world would deem wrong and abnormal but then seeing as making sense due to the inner carnal nature that needed to be feed in order to be happy & give over all he has.
at first I was not much for the character of ASH but this book gave me a deeper insight into the character and made me see him differently and more compassionately then before.
I highly liked how when all the pieces come together at the end of the book come to show u of a love triangle that was destined before time could place it, that this book was saying in a small way behind the lines that past lifes are still connected to us in every life we live that such a thing as a destined path is possible and known.
I highly enjoyed this book ab d it is a series I would gladly read again

Great book!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I can't say enough about how good it is. I fluctuated between loving Embry and disliking him. I loved Ash and felt sorry for everything he went through. At one point, I wanted Greer to get out of the way so that Ash and Embry could be together. :) The narrators were great. Both were able to do both male and female characters in such a good way. They gave believability to the characters making the story so much better. A previous review mentioned that the male narrator misspoke a word. That instead of saying 'subterfuge' he said 'centrifuge'. Actually, it sounded like 'suterfuge' without the hard pronunciation of the 'b'. As for the 't' sound that wasn't pronounced in certain words, such as 'kitten', just think of it as a gutteral stop as some British do. The word kitten was pronounced as some Americans pronounce it. As for the book in general, I could easily see the entire series as a movie or even a regular TV show. :) If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I can see myself reading this series again.

The whole series is SO good!
This review is for the whole series.
The story really is amongst the best Ive listened to. I am making allowances for the ridiculous names like Carpathia and Caledonia for a region in Eastern Europe, and the oh so ridiculous confrontational scene on a ballroom floor during a dance between the First Lady and a Foreign Head of State and the American VP. The sex scenes are the edgiest I’ve listened to yet, and the plot twists are so unexpected, even if one is familiar with old myths and legends. I confess,it got so painful, I couldn’t listened to part 1 of-the third book, but I’m glad I rejoined to hear the end of the story.

I am emotionally wrung out.
Sierra Simone, you have broken my heart and glued it back together numerous times throughout this series, that after finishing, i am a blubbering mess.
After listening to the first two books in this series in very quick succession, I was desperate to listen to this audio.
what can I say? I felt all the emotions under the sun throughout the series, every high and low, but this book literally made me cry. It didn't just bring me to tears, I was uncontrollably sobbing.
Beautifully written.
Thank you.

Great ending and my favourite in the series
Best book in the series🤩 It's very emotional and, at times, heart-breaking too; full of kinky smex between the mm, fm but more often all 3 of them🔥🔥🔥; and plenty of political discourse too. As with all Sierra Simone books I've read so far, it has some religious undertones and spirituality too. I actually slowed it down at times in order to savour it (and it was not just during the smex 😂). Their bond, complicated relationship and lives and their love was beautiful and tragic. We also, finally unveiled all the secrets. Truly loved this one 🥰
The narration was great (even if I didn't love Ashe's voice). Their interpretation of the characters with all the different voices that were easy to identify made a great story even better.
It's free on plus catalogue audible for another 15days, so hurry and listen to it asap.
