Summary

From the authors of the best-selling series Cherringham.

A young poacher is found shot dead in the woods of a grand estate near Mydworth. A sad accident it would seem. But the boy's mother is convinced it is murder and when Harry and Kat investigate, they find the poacher's life was not as innocent as he made out...

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series "Piece of Cake". He is also the lead in the BBC series "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries", based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

I DO Like Cat and Sir Harry!

Spoiler? Was waiting for a twist, but there wasn't one. Shame. A good story, but finished early.
Wonderful characters, and Nathaniel Parker does the voices and accents brilliantly. Yp3u forget it's an Englishman being an American woman.

another brilliant Myndworth Mystery

I thoroughly enjoyed this 2nd mystery so much I can't wait to get the next one, even though each mystery is complete and stands alone.

Quite entertaining......

I am enjoying this series but with reservations. It is light, fluffy, undemanding and there are distinct echoes of Cherringham. I just wish that Harry could 'man up' a bit and not be such a wimp. There are occasional glimpses of the man he is supposed to have been in the past but really, I cannot understand what the feisty and capable Kat sees in him! Let's hope that he is allowed to develop a slightly more macho side to his character as the stories progress.....

Boys own adventure

Twists and turns galore , very enjoyable. Times of a bygone era with gentle reminders of what life was like.

New adventure 5 star 🌟

Well that was a cracking story. Better than the first book. Set in the 1920's/1930's sir Harry is married to a young lady from America called Cat and he has brought her back to England to live, but on reterning home they seemed to have fallen into a life of solving crime. Well what else are you going to do when your family and friends need help and you have all the time in the world because your rich. The characters are so likeable and you feel like your on the adventure along with Cat and Harry.
I knew it would be a gem coming from Matt C and Neil R can't wait for the next one.

A jolly old jape

I love the main characters and the plot lines. They are quite gentle little mysteries, but ever so enjoyable. Nathaniel Parker is a super narrator. However, I gave it an overall 4 stars because of the length of it, which is about half the duration of others for the same price. I feel a bit cheated. I do rather think we should get two for that price on account of the length of the stories.

That's it?

Nice story, well performed, but with a clunky and disappointing ending. It didn't encourage me to buy any more in the series
