just so good, the narrator has a lovely voice and i love the background noise and music, i feel so peaceful. i want it to last forever

I love this book and the characters. A fascinating world to step into. Contains great allegories to inter-human conflicts and cultural awareness.

The sound cast adds to the atmosphere. Does not overwhelm.

Can definitely recommend.

And on another positive note compared to the first book, the narrator has learnt that they are artificial gravity nets rather than antigravity nets (by the end at least)

The world building and characters are both so lovably set up. I could spend forever looking around this world, taking in various different societies with their sights and colours.

There's also two storylines, both equally interesting and well read. Good pacing too, and I really enjoy the way this was set to background noise.

As with a lot of sci-fi, at somepoint you'll run into something with a chat like set-up and a lot of numbers. those bits are always a bit of a struggle in audio books I think. but this one only had very small bits of that.

The story is incredible and detailed. The author deftly weaving two characters' arcs into a breathtaking odyssey of self discovery at different life stages and with different struggles to deal with. Gorgeous prose and the reader does a fantastic job of bringing all the different voices out and ensured each felt authentic and different.

Took me a bit longer to get into than the first book but the pay off was worth it. It’s a very ordinary view of extraordinary things and I find that a relaxing listen. Had a couple of gotcha moments and the last third of the booked sped the pace up. Don’t come expecting lasers and space battles. But if you’re interested in a fresh take on feelings and purpose this is a great setting to explore them.
