Steve Silk is a journalist working for BBC Look East in Norwich. In his spare time he canoes, cycles and writes. His most recent book saw him cycle from London to Edinburgh following The Great North Road. It was published by Summersdale in 2021. He is currently working on a follow-up, looking at the A40 - the road which runs from London to the Welsh coast through the Chilterns, Oxford, the Cotswolds, Gloucester, the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons. He completed that journey across eight days in the summer of 2023 using a road bike, a canoe and a mountain bike. All being well, Go West will be published next year. He has previously written two books on the Norfolk Broads. The Wherryman's Way, published in 2010, won the East Anglia Travel Book of the Year. Hidden Riverside Norwich - looking at the River Wensum - came out in 2016. He came off X in August 2024 and can now be found on Instagram and Threads @stevesilk66
