Dr Shaunna Menard has been a medical doctor for over 25 years and is a Canadian and American Board Certified Radiologist. She is an international speaker and trainer, certified holistic health coach, superfoods author, former Chair of Public Health and former Assistant Professor of Medicine and she has spoken to international audiences of thousands on health and wellness and has been featured on Breakfast Television. She is a visiting teacher at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and has shared the stage with mind body medicine expert Deepak Chopra. Her grandmother’s death when she was 14, galvanized her mission to help people live their longest, healthiest, happiest lives and led her to medical school. However, as a doctor, she observed that the majority of diseases could have been prevented with a healthy lifestyle. She knew within the medical system, it was difficult to help patients adopt the healthy habits that would lead to a significant, sustainable improvement in their health. She became frustrated with the rising epidemics of obesity, cancer and diabetes. She worked extremely hard to get to the top of her career professionally but found herself unsatisfied and not truly fulfilling her mission to help people live their longest, healthiest, happiest lives. She then made the bold, unprecedented move from the ‘end of the line’ to the ‘front lines’ to transition from burned out doctor to blissed out health coach. She works as a Lifestyle Medicine Specialist at DrShaunna.com and has created a superfood meal planning service at MealCure.com. Her success leaving a lucrative medical career to create a soul satisfying and thriving health coaching practice led many health coaches to reach out to her for advice. Observing the growing health crisis and the struggle and defeat of many holistic entrepreneurs, her mission expanded to inspire and empower health coaches to grow their business and heal the world and she founded The Health Professional Academy. She created the Awakening Process to teach health coaches how to create their own soul satisfying signature programs that make a difference so they can enjoy greater income, impact and freedom! Dr Shaunna lives with her husband Gerald and their four sons and golden retriever in beautiful Kelowna, BC, Canada.
