Sarah Onions has been a writer and journalist all of her adult life. Her first story was about a royal allotment and there she met her literary soul mate Laura with whom she went on to write under a different name. Sarah turned her hand to teaching when she was raising her two children and she went into print for the first time with 'Teaching Radio News' where she was able to explore all the ideas and techniques of which she had learnt on the job. Journalism was in the family and her father Ron Onions was the first news organiser for the BBC in New York between 1967 and 1971. Sarah and her mother went with him to America as did Sarah's sister Lulu, who had brain damage and no thyroid gland. The family were stopped on arrival at the docks in Manhattan when they by boat, hence the title of the book, 'Don't Bring Lulu; Her Family's Tale of Trial and Triumph' by Ron, Doris and Sarah Onions. On return, Ron ran LBC Radio for 10 years. Buying the 'Lulu' book The book can be bought in Europe and America on amazon.co.uk or amazon.com in a hard copy, or on Kindle (free on Kindle unlimited).
