Pat Patterson is a paramedic, an educator, and a family man—richly blessed by the LORD. I write from experience, so if my stories come across as gritty, fast-paced, vivid, and full of adventure, it’s because that’s who I am. I’ve been there—on the water, deep in the woods, and out on the streets—holding the dying in my arms. Those moments have marked me deeply. But when it’s all said and done, I’m just a simple paramedic with a heart full of stories waiting to be told. (3rd Person POV) __________________________ The Mike Peabody Series I Witness, the first novel in my new Mike Peabody—Medic 7 Series, is complete and will soon be available on Amazon. Told in first-person point of view, this powerful story follows an emergency physician who wakes up in first-century Jerusalem—just in time to witness the final days of a man known to many as the Teacher. His true name: Jesus Christ. The action is raw and authentic, the narrative deeply personal, and the call to action both stirring and convicting. Here's a short excerpt: We watched and waited. At 12:00 noon the sky darkened. Not like it would in a total solar eclipse when the moon’s shadow passes over the sun. Not a deep reddish horizon on all sides with beautiful stars twinkling. It turned as dark as pitch, and as it did, pandemonium broke out. People screamed. Some loudly wept. I watched and waited quietly with my guard. It might have been a beautiful scene, but the darkness continued to deepen until becoming so complete and oppressive that I could feel its weight on my shoulders. So black I could not see my hand. I could hear the criminals crying for help, shifting restlessly on their crosses, but Jesus remained silent . . . __________________________ *A personal note about my novel, Tested By Fire: A reader has complained that I use the Lord's name in vain. Nothing could be further from the truth. I love the Lord Jesus Christ with all of my heart, and I would never use His name in vain. If one of the main characters cries out, "Jesus!" it's because it's what I do...I call on Him often, in times of trouble, and in times of praise. Jim Stockbridge is not a perfect man, but he is forgiven.
