Michel R. Nelson (Mike) was raised on a farm in Northern Utah. He enjoys most things out-of-doors. He served four years with the U.S. Air Force in Communications Intelligence in the early 70s, spending the majority of his time in Turkey. Mike attended Weber State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Afterward, he worked for an aerospace firm near his hometown for thirty-eight years. Mike started writing for “wintertime” entertainment and relaxation after being encouraged by an excellent English Literature professor. Because of other demands in his life, he didn't get serious about writing until he retired in 2016. Now he claims it's his favorite hobby! He is the proud father of six children and has been married to his high school sweetheart for over fifty years. As of June 2025, he has self-published twenty novels and a book of short stories. In addition, he has written a biography for an interesting client and contributed numerous short stories to local anthologies. Mike's novel "Clairvoyant" won the League of Utah Writers 2019 Silver Quills award, for adult fiction. In addition, Mike's novel "The Stickmaker" won the League of Utah Writers 2023 Gold Quill award for adult fiction. You can find all of his publications on Amazon.
