Maurice Turmel holds a PhD degree in Counseling Psychology, in addition to both a Masters and Honors B.A. in Psychology. He was a practicing therapist for nearly 25 years providing counseling, therapy and consulting services to individuals, families, groups and business organizations. Maurice (AKA Dr Moe) has led seminars in the areas of Creativity, Self-Development, Spiritual & Psychological Awareness, Passion and Purpose, and Grief & Loss. He is the author of: 1) Breaking the Spell of Religion & Healing the Trauma; 2) The Voice - A Spiritual Sci-Fi Adventure; 3) Conscious Evolution - Mythology in Action; and 4) When Angels Call - Coping with Grief and Loss. He has been a guest on numerous television and radio talk shows and a regular guest on podcasts dealing with Trauma, in all its forms, and Personal Growth, where he charts his own beginnings more than 50 years ago. In addition, Dr. Moe is a Performing Songwriter with a number of inspirational CDs to his credit. In both his writing and music creations, Maurice enjoys bringing messages of hope, inspiration, and self-awareness to individuals and audiences eager for life-affirming, personal healing and spiritually uplifting content. Creativity, he believes, is everyone’s potential, having learned this lesson himself as an academic/professional turned artist. “For some of us,” he acknowledges, “creativity comes along later in life. But what an opportunity to give of one’s Self, and further define that Self as we grow older. Simply put, creativity is fun and good for the Soul. It makes you feel better all over more than any place else!
