KC Gilbert is an attorney with thirty-five years of experience litigating cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States, but mostly in Alaska. He went to Alaska in 1985 thinking he would stay only two years before returning to Oregon where he had been raised, attending McNary High School in Keizer, graduating college at Oregon State University in Corvallis, and then obtaining his law degree, cum laude, from Willamette University College of Law in Salem. But as he soon learned, the spectacular beauty of Alaska grows on you. He stayed in Alaska for thirty-five years and served as the state’s attorney general. It was as Attorney General that he learned of the havoc opioids have wreaked on society, and of the obscene wealth that the manufacturers of the drugs have reaped off the misery of others. He has four children, two stepchildren, and eight—soon to be nine—grandchildren. He lives with his lovely bride, Johanna—who hails from Barranquilla, Colombia—in his hometown of Keizer. He speaks Spanish.
