Jeanne Magagna, Phd. Jeanne headed Psychotherapy Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and was a Consultant Psychotherapist in Ellern Mede Centre for Eating Disorders in London. She trained at the Tavistock Clinic in London to become a Child and Adolescent, Family and Adult Psychotherapist. She currently teaches for the Centro Studii Martha Harris Tavistock model trainings in Florence and Venice, Italy as well as having provided or currently providing trainings in America, Russia, China, Australia and Iran. She works as a private adult and child psychotherapist as well as publishing and working internationally. Her books some of which are translated into Spanish, Italian, French, Russian and Turkish include: Being Present for Your Nursery Age Child and The Silent Child: Communication without Words (2012), Creativity and Psychotic States and Intimate Transformations: Babies with their Families and Infant Observation (in Spanish and Turkish); A Psychotherapeutic Understanding of Children with Eating Disorders: Freeing the Imprisoned Self (2022) and Contemporary Child Psychotherapy (2022). Jeanne advocates teaching the observation of infants and young children to all parents, carers and nursery teachers and feels all parents need to read Intimate Transformations: Babies with the Families to realise their baby has a mind that wishes understanding and friendship from conception onwards!
