My stories have appeared in HORROR FOR THE HOLIDAYS, THE DEVIL'S COATTAILS, THE BLEEDING EDGE, WHITLEY STRIEBER'S ALIENS, SINGERS OF STRANGE SONGS, RETURN TO LOVECRAFT COUNTRY, and the anthology CHILDREN OF CTHULHU (Del Rey). I scripted KLYDE & MERIEM, a spin-off of the popular Basement Comics CAVEWOMAN series. I also created and co-edited EVERMORE, a collection of stories by various authors using Edgar Allan Poe as a character which was published by Arkham House Books. My first novel, THE FLOCK, was published in August 2006 by Five Star. The movie rights subsequently sold to producers Don Murphy and John Wells. The Tor-Forge version appeared in November of 2010. Some of my later novels were published by small and micro-publishers. These include HISSMELINA, THE LIVING END, WITHERING, THE COALITION (series), THE NEW ECOLOGY OF DEATH. My short story collection A CONFEDERACY OF HORRORS is out from Hippocampus Press. My newest project is THE EMISSARY, a horror novel set in the mountains of North Carolina. WORKING CLASS HERO: The Autobiography of Billy B., A Hyper Human is my exploration of the superhero myth. Combining my working class background with my life-long love of comic book superheroes, I have crafted a novel of affection for the loudly-colored characters of my childhood. WORKING CLASS HERO, along with all of my other books soon be reissued by Last Hemlock Press. My favorite authors include Charles Bukowski, Robert Graves, Joe Lansdale, Barry Gifford, and Jack Kerouac. When I'm not writing I can generally be found backpacking in a National Park or wilderness area, or kayaking down a wild river with my wife.
