My name is Avril Thom. I am a teacher by profession, married and a mother of two boys. I also had two other careers before teaching such as an account manager in the banking industry and a staffing coordinator in the health care industry. A few years into my teaching career I received my Master's degree in counseling and worked independently as a counselor during covid, focusing on mental health. I love reading and often thought that one day I would pivot to writing to explore the creative side of my personality. I am a continual optimist and a lifelong learner who is adaptive and love to try new ventures. I am also the owner of a small business that involve health and beauty merchandizing where the flag ship product is Andiroba oil. I experience a lot of personal satisfaction from encouraging and motivating others and from assisting them to achieving their highest potential. Running is my hobby and I try to do so about three times a week, after running my thoughts are clearer and I am able to write extensively after this activity. Additionally, running also help to keep me in good shape and good health.
