Ariel Peña-Martínez is a Cuban-American writer and technology consultant whose work explores themes of migration, identity, and the universal search for freedom. Born in Havana's La Lisa neighborhood, Ariel's journey from Castro's Cuba to the United States informed his powerful debut memoir, "Unshackled." Drawing from his experiences crossing through Latin America and building a new life in America, Ariel writes with unflinching honesty about the physical and emotional borders he crossed in pursuit of a better future. His storytelling weaves together personal narrative with historical context, creating a tapestry that honors both ancestral wisdom and the courage to forge new paths. Ariel holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts Lowell and an MBA from Boston University Questrom School of Business. When not writing, he supports a technology consulting firm specializing in data analytics solutions across multiple domains like insurance, higher education, healthcare, and manufacturing. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with his wife Grissel, an oncology scientist, their son Diego, and their puppies Dante and Luna. He believes that storytelling is the most powerful tool for building bridges between cultures and generations.
