Summary

I’ve been good long enough.

As the eldest son of Austin’s most prominent preacher, I’ve lived my life on the virtuous side. No scandals. Flawless image. Clean reputation.

That’s the way it must be if I’m going to take his place someday.

But everything changes when I find out my father is a VIP member of a local kink club.

A liar. A cheater. A hypocrite.

Now, I’m done being righteous.

And when the club owner’s jaded girlfriend comes to me with a proposal, I can’t resist.

Sage is nothing like the women I’ve dated before. Pink hair, tattoos, piercings. I know it’ll burn my father’s reputation to the ground when she and I are seen together.

But our fake dating scheme isn’t enough. We need videos—dirty videos.

The more we film these scenes, the more I like it.

She wants me to degrade her, hurt her, violate her.

And God help me, I want it too.

But it’s hardly fake anymore, and before long, I don’t recognize the Goode man I used to be.

Peaches and Church Boy

Before listening to this, I liked to dabble occasionally with audio books but *this* right here got me hooked! Finished within a few days. The story, as always with Sarah Cate, is incredible but the performance really brought the characters to life! They felt real and hearing them made me fall in love with audio books in general. When the next book came out, I even waited for the audiobook release to listen to it so I could have the same experience!

if you loved the book, this is essential

I'm not always the biggest fan of audio books because I find myself getting easily distracted and losing track of the story but with Adam and Sage that was impossible, after reading their story on page listening to it come to life on audio is a truly captivating experience and if this is how the Goode brothers are going to continue then sign me up

Oh My Good(e)ness! Exceptional Story & Listen🎧

Holy moly, Sara Cate has outdone herself again with this amazing and smoking hot romance novel, and if I could, I would give it way more than five stars. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held it captive straight to the end. There are many layers to this story and I love its complexity and its originality. The writing and plotting are phenomenal, as is the world building and character development. The preacher’s son, Adam Goode, wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps. He lived life with that goal in mind, staying out of trouble and doing no wrong in the eyes of his father, God, and the people of his church. And in prepping for that career he writes his father’s speeches and sermons, that is until his father tells him otherwise. Sage and her boyfriend Brent run a kink club. While Sage works hard and puts as much into the club as Brent, he gives her little credit or never listens to her ideas. One exhausted morning, she wanted nothing but breakfast at the busy diner before heading home to crash. Waiting for a seat, the guy ahead of her gave her his seat. After getting his seat, he was sitting right next to her, the two hit it off, and she gave him her club card, not expecting to see him again. But she does, Adam strolls in one night looking for her and, despite being out of his comfort zone, he finds her in her office. He had information to share with her about her club. He sees what’s happening in the club on the monitor in her office and is shocked to see his father. His father, the one who preached against the club sinners, was in there committing his own sins. That night put both Adam and Sage on the same path, a path different from what they dreamed of or even imagined, a path of vengeance.  I loved how everything played out in this book, watching Adam and Sage get to know each other while putting their plan into action and then watching Adam finally grow into his own. If you asked who saved who in this book, I would say they saved each other and they did it in the most beautiful of ways. With the exception of Adam’s father, there are some fabulous secondary characters in this book. I am interested in learning more about Adam’s brothers, especially Isaac. Sara Cate, thank you for another exceptional story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the amazing narration, Jacob Morgan and Vivienne LaRue were the perfect cast to bring these characters and the story to life. They understood the characters they were portraying, giving each a voice that fit that character and was believable in every role. Morgan’s Adam was spot on, grasping every aspect of his personality, from his rawness to his passionate side. LaRue did the same for Sage, playing her role perfectly. Both were fantastic in their secondary roles as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and their narration enhanced this brilliant story to another level. Thank you for this exceptional listen.

The preacher's son and the sex club worker

Firstly, kudos to the narrators who did a great job.

This was well written, as is all work by Sara Cate, but I just found myself not really buying into the romance as it felt a little clichéd to me.
