Being the new kid in school, Jesse Beamish’s first day at Lawrence Stewart Talbot Middle School is already a bummer. But, finding his next class and avoiding school bullies quickly becomes the least of his worries as unusual things start to happen. There’s something different about Wolverton. Something...hiding in the shadows. Jesse soon discovers that vampires...are real! One of them is prowling the town under the cover of night, and he’s sure the vampire is coming for him next!

Shelby Anatoli grew up in Wolverton. She’s come to accept that monsters live - unseen - among the humans. But, when school groundskeeper Belmar Todjäger gets taken by one of these monsters, that’s not something she’s willing to accept. As they dig into the secrets and mysteries surrounding Craven Point - and their missing groundskeeper - they come face-to-face with merfolk, goblins, imps, a three-headed dog, and a shadowy town council member who will stop at nothing to get their hands on Mastermind’s Monsters Library.

Astride a giant scorpion, Septra’Kaal is a force the likes of which Masterminds Incorporated has never seen.
