January Day is a detective on the verge of self-destruction, ready to give up on ever finding her brother’s killers. Not only this, but it is a failure and nominated for deletion. If she wants to save herself, her reality, and the lives of countless others in an ever-expanding multiverse, she must first believe she, her reality, and those who live in it deserve to be saved at all.

Gehen City is corrupt, and Detective January Day has tried everything to change that. But it’s hopeless. Using her new-found ability to travel between realities, she takes solace in observing people and life in other worlds.

No longer living in a simulation, January Day finds herself the subject of unwanted attention. She is the first of her kind: a digital consciousness inside a human body. Haunted by memories of travelling through imagined realities, she struggles to come to terms with her new life. When a new governor of the city comes to power, his aim is to save a dying planet. He is ready to outlaw architects from creating imagined realities, including Elijah, for good.
