This charming collection of Grimms’ Fairy Tales includes Rapunzel, Frederick and Catherine, Sweetheart Roland, Snowdrop (Snow White), The Pink and Clever Elsie. Grimms’ Fairy Tales was first published in Germany in 1812 as Kinder und Hausmärchen. This series of recordings is based on the original 1823 English translation by Edgar Taylor, with subsequent editing by Marian Edwardes.

The Valiant Little Tailor is a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, included in the first edition of 1812. It tells the story of a little tailor who kills seven flies at once and imagines himself to be a hero. As a result, thanks to his quick wits, he emerges victorious from any danger and marries the princess, receiving half a kingdom in addition.

The Golden Bird is a fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm about a prince's quest to obtain a beautiful golden bird, facing trials and tribulations along the way.

Hans in Luck is a German folk tale recorded by the Brothers Grimm and published in Grimm's Fairy Tales 1812. In Hans in Luck, filled with humorous twists and turns, Hans trades one possession for another, each time thinking he's bettering his situation. The story follows him as he sets out from his master's after completing seven years of service. Initially receiving a lump of gold as wages, he ends up with nothing but a simple whetstone through a series of trades. The tale serves as a cautionary yet lighthearted reminder to cherish the simple joys in life and to be content with what one has.

Once upon a time, a poor woodman and his wife were so desperate for a child that they claimed they would be happy even with one no bigger than their thumb. This is what happened, and the boy they named Tom Thumb was smart and bright but would not grow any bigger no matter what or how much they fed him. Tom Thumb is a very little boy, who although he is just about the size of his father's thumb is very adventurous and his curiosity gets him into some difficult situations. With courage, wit and the help of some animal friends, Tom shows that though he may be a very small boy, he is a great hero.

The Fisherman and His Wife is a Brothers Grimm tale of Pomeranian origin about an enchanted wish-granting fish, a fisherman and his insatiable wife who is ultimately punished for her greed.
