In 2036, a rapidly destabilizing climate culminated in a worldwide snowstorm that froze the entire planet. Billions are now dead due to starvation, disease, civil unrest, and the plummeting temperatures. What remains of humanity now live in small settlements or isolated makeshift villages, carving out miserable lives in this grim new reality.

Decades following the collapse of society, thanks to a manmade virus that created both zombies and a half-dozen new types of inhuman species, humans and inhumans live together in a decent semblance of society. Though the undead and vicious marauders roam the landscape, the average survivor can expect to have a decent life within a settlement. But that all changed. The virus has mutated. Now, the inhumans are just as susceptible to the virus as the humans, and they're turning into lethal monsters straight out of a living nightmare.

Awakening on an unknown island with nothing but his name, Jak quickly proved himself a warrior as he tore through the most immediate threats around. Giant wasps, corrupted wolves, violent cavemen...all fell before him. Now comes something even more challenging. With his elf love Niri and magic healer Rylee at his side, Jak must begin the process of forming his own tribe. The cave that he took is a good start, but he'll need more things: wood, rock, plants, and, most significantly of all, other exiles to help build his tribe up against the other threats this island has in store for him.

Lucas Mead-Slayer has seen it all. Or at least that's what he thought after over a decade of wandering the wilderness of his homeland and embracing everything it had to throw at him. He's fought terrible monsters, plundered ancient catacombs, and caught the eye of many unique and interesting adventuresses.

The savage Tolvar Tribe, the brutal beasts, the strange monsters, and the terrifying corrupted things that wander like the living dead out of the mysterious Barrens. He has faced and overcome every challenge so far, and has now formed a tribe of those unwanted or marked for death by their own people. Building his village in a prime location he took from the Tolvar warparty, he now lives with dozens of other exiles, including Rylee and Niri, his two beautiful bond-mates.

With his previous situation resolved and two very attractive women now in his company, Chris takes on his next task: getting Delilah to her intended destination. Theoretically, it should be a straight shot down a long highway. Only in this new frozen wasteland of a world, nothing is ever simple. What would have been less than a two-hour drive in the old days is now possibly a two-week trek through icy hell. Vicious wildlife, dangerous men with ill intent, and brutal cold are just some of the potential threats Chris and the women will face on their long walk down the highway.

After nearly two months out away from Pine Lake and the women in his life, Chris is finally ready to head back. Feeling like he's conquered his demons, or at least won a decisive battle against them, and learned some crucial things about himself and his relationships, he's eager to return home and continue his life there. But it's going to be a long walk, and although he isn't too concerned about the day-to-day difficulties of traveling across the frozen wilderness, he's nervous about traveling with the four women he's picked up while out finding himself.

What remains of Pine Lake is a dead end, and the best hope for Chris, the women he loves, and the denizens of the settlement now lay in a town of preppers living on an island a few hundred miles to the north. All of their faith is now being put into that settlement, and the train that Chris discovered and Fay repaired. Even with a mostly functional train and a lot of luck, it will still be a long journey. Any number of dangers, environmental, animal, and human, could lay in between them and their destination.

After a near death experience out in the tunnels that cross the depths of a dead world, Ethan is back on his feet and ready for more. When he arrived in Wayport less than a month ago, he had nothing but the clothes on his back. Now, everything has changed.
