DI Tom Janssen muss diesen Fall zur Unterstützung der Kollegen aus King’s Lynn übernehmen und herausfinden, wie der Mann dorthin gekommen war. Der Tote hatte an einer Story gearbeitet, von der er niemandem ein Sterbenswörtchen verraten hatte – nicht einmal seinen Liebsten oder Kollegen.

Eine Lüge erfordert Einsatz ... Viele Lügen erfordern Hingabe ... In der archäologischen Grabungsstätte Branodunum, einem Römerlager an der Küste Norfolks, werden die Überreste einer jungen Frau entdeckt. DI Janssen und sein Team müssen herausfinden, wer sie war und weshalb sie hier begraben wurde. Um diesen Ort ranken sich Mythen und Geheimnisse, und an der Stätte fanden bereits mehrere Ausgrabungen statt. Aber seit wann liegt die Tote hier ... und wer wünscht sich, dass sie nie entdeckt worden wäre?
