This week starts out similarly to others, with an update on the movements made by the S&P 500 Index and CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index. Jeff gives us a brief note on irrational exuberance followed by a mention that other parts of the economy may be "sane." Maybe he's comparing it to himself..... Then comes the good stuff, interest rates. The majority of this week's economic writings across the interwebs were focused on the Federal Reserve Board's rate change. Jake explains overnight loans made by the Federal Reserve and why lowering rates made rates go up.... oh brother. Jeff gets to tell us about a publishing by Mario Draghi. For those of you that may not know who that is, don't worry, I didn't either.
