  • You Must Do It Like This!! - October 27th 2024
    Oct 29 2024
People often insist that there's only one correct path to success, reinforcing the idea that we must follow a specific, predetermined route to achieve our goals. But history, and personal stories like that of John Henry Soto, shows this isn't the case. John grew up in the South Bronx during challenging times, where few expected him to find success outside the rough environment he knew. But instead of taking the narrow, "conventional" path often recommended, John turned to his passion for the guitar—a gift from his grandfather—as a ticket to freedom. Music opened doors, enabling him to explore creative fields that many people around him hadn't even considered. This stepping stone led him to embrace storytelling, filmmaking, and eventually, digital marketing.

But we cannot wait for Hollywood to fully open its doors—we must take charge of our own narratives. • Measuring Your Success - September 29th 2024
    Oct 1 2024
www.johnhenrysoto.com Measuring success without losing sight of your purpose requires a shift from comparing yourself to others to focusing on your unique journey. It's easy to fall into the trap of benchmarking your achievements against someone else's, but this can distort your vision and cause you to chase goals that don't align with your values. Instead, success should be defined by how closely you're living in alignment with your purpose. Reflect on your personal growth, the fulfillment of your mission, and the positive impact you're making, rather than external accolades. By maintaining focus on your own progress, you can ensure that your actions remain purpose-driven and not dictated by comparison.

  • Take Control of your Environment as an Artist! - August 25th 2024
    Aug 29 2024
As an artist, protecting yourself from environmental hazards is crucial to maintaining a healthy body, mind, and spirit, which are all essential for creativity. Start by being mindful of the air quality in your surroundings. Poor air quality, filled with pollutants and allergens, can hinder your respiratory health and affect your overall well-being. Invest in a good air purifier for your workspace and consider incorporating indoor plants that naturally filter the air. When working outdoors, especially in urban areas, monitor air quality reports and wear masks if necessary to reduce exposure to harmful particles. Additionally, practice good ventilation in your studio, especially when using paints, solvents, or other materials that release toxic fumes. In terms of diet, be conscious of the pesticides and chemicals present in conventionally grown foods. Prioritize consuming organic produce to minimize exposure to these harmful substances, which can accumulate in your body and lead to long-term health issues. A diet rich in whole foods—fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds—supports not just physical health, but also mental clarity and energy levels, which are vital for sustained creativity. Lastly, nurturing your mind and spirit through regular mindfulness practices, such as meditation or yoga, can help you stay grounded and focused. Balancing your artistic pursuits with a healthy lifestyle will ensure that your creative energies flow freely, uninhibited by environmental toxins.
