  • Introducing: Almost Interesting by Simon Whistler
    Jun 26 2025
Welcome to Almost Interesting, the podcast designed to be just interesting enough - but not too interesting, obviously. In each episode, I'll dive gently and aimlessly into topics that are, frankly, not exactly gripping - but perfect for drifting off, relaxing, or just having some pleasant background noise. Think of it like those stories your slightly boring friend tells, but without the social obligation to pretend you're listening. Simons narration and comments are always so engaging and add to the script. Ive listened to be very single episode at least once by now as ive been following this podcast since the start and I'm a fan of Simons many YouTube channels.

The various writers for the podcast put in a gob smacking amount of research and every episode is a deep dive into the topic. Especially the John Wayne Gacy episode, 3.5 hours jeeeeez!!!

Simon and the writers respect for the victims is also notable, making sure that they are remembered, not just the villains they are remembered because of.

I love this podcast, and I hope it carries on for many years to come :)

Listened to every single one!

I came over form youtube so that I could listen to Simon tall about murders some more.

This podcast gives a indepeth look at crimes, with a human perspective. I love how there is always a objective view of the facts, never taking them at face value but also factoring in that these crimes happened to real people. tastefully done with a comical aspect that makes some of the unbearable facts of crimes variable. very entertaining.

Love it on YouTube and love it here

Wide variety of cases not just your average carbon copy details, top notch research, laid back vibe. Tangent tine with fact boi will provide levity when needed or just when his brain decides left turn here.

With compassion for the victims, out right glory when the perpetrators are apprehended or meet a nice fitting karmic end. From the rule book to bingo, this is not your average podcast and frankly listening to Simon get hyper excited about potential busts or the soul sucking depression him and the team have put together for your audio pleasure, also available as a video format the memes are perfectly chosen by only the finest memeoligists the budget could afford. All of the proceeds of this podcast should go to feeding the writing team in the basement...but Simon loves capitalism. Long time fan review by Dave (not blind script writer Dave honest)

Was recommended this podcast by a friend and now I can't stop listening. Excellent narration and story telling skills from Simon, throwing in his own thoughts on subjects. Great writing team. I listen everyday while I am at work and loving it.

I absolutely love this podcast. It's well researched and Simon's cold read approach is brilliant, I do enjoy the tangents and asides. I like that it's not entirely grisly murders and serial killers (as so many crime podcast seem to be) and Simon's insistence on the CSI not Saw rule is especially good as is his respect for the victims of some of the crimes. Please keep them coming. ps. love Jen's little editors flares.

Superb haven't missed a single one
