  • Summary

  • The ADHD Adults Podcast (in)expertly covers ADHD in adults, sharing evidence-based information and personal experiences. Join us for balloon-headed Alex the Psychoeducation Monkey's evidence-based information, James's annoyance and genuinely poor tips for coping, and the "Queen of Chaos", Mrs ADHD. Each episode also features regular games, "jokes", correspondence from absolutely real people and chaos... lots of chaos. • Episode 175 Supporting a Partner with ADHD
    Nov 4 2024

In Episode 175 we cover the often requested topic of how to support an ADHD partner (only took us about a year to get around to it...) As usual, Alex the Psycho…….education Monkey delivers the.... well, there's almost no research but still he tries to cover it, and then we answer questions that have been sent in. 'What has James lost, forgotten or mislaid this week?" returns and will Alex finally win a game? Alex steals James’s workshop, James forgets how to read (Alex’s bits anyway) and Mrs AuDHD thinks it’s fucking hard (ding)...

  • Episode 174 ADHD and Risky Behaviour
    Oct 28 2024

Episode 174 covers the well-documented 'risky behaviours' that many adults with ADHD can find themselves engaged with. As usual, Alex the Psycho…….education Monkey mangles the research behind the subject; all three hosts add personal reflections, and then we answer questions that have been sent in. 'What has James lost, forgotten or mislaid this week?" returns and will Alex finally win a game? James does Alex’s hello, Mrs AuDHD thinks fun things have no risk and Alex, for once, feels he’s not James Dean enough...

  • Episode 173 ADHD & Positive Illusory Bias
    Oct 21 2024

In Episode 173 we cover ADHD and a form of cognitive dissonance known as 'positive illusory bias', or the mismatch between how we view our abilities compared to what they sometimes are. As usual, Alex the Psycho…….education Monkey provides the evidence around the subject; all three hosts add personal reflections, and then we answer questions that have been sent in. 'What has James lost, forgotten or mislaid this week?" returns but is getting tediously one-sided now. James still thinks he can definitely put together IKEA furniture, Alex brags about his badminton prowess and Mrs AuDHD believed she could fit a cat flap in a wooden door in the rain using Play-Doh...

A funny AND credible, inclusive UK insight

A great podcast, it follows a brilliant structure (kudos to them both for adhering to a structure, which I am personally pants at)
It’s tricky to identify credible, scientific insight that is relatable and explained well in plain English, which James and Alex do superbly. They demonstrate impressive achievement and the very real struggle that is experienced by someone with ADHD wiring, overlaid with good humour. Their style may not suit everyone, but I for one love it, their passion, swearing and silliness, together it gives me a channel that helps me to feel less of a dickhead and not so odd. KlaxON.

So helpful, funny and a great listen!

Love these two, they make me laugh and shout 'yes' throughout this podcast. In an agreement way not anything else! 😂 😂

Funny, supportive, and well researched

This podcast has become a real highlight of my week. Funny and genuinely useful, it has helped me to understand myself much better than many more ‘serious’ resources. Sam, Brian Brains, and Alex are fabulous presenters, even (especially) when they’re doing it in a fabulously ADHD way.

Life changing.

I discovered this podcast right after my wife gently suggested I had ADHD. I had no idea what that meant but coming from a nurse who also has a degree in psychology I thought I’d better find out. This podcast has been a life changing education and has given me much needed confidence and a lot of laughs. Highly recommend.

Engaging, entertaining and very informative

I’m a psychiatrist with an interest in ADHD. This is a great podcast, giving me subtle insights into the experiences of people with ADHD that I don’t pick up on during consultations.
