Scripture Meditation | Lectio Divina | Strength in Weakness | 2 Corinthians 12:7–10 (NLT)

Download your FREE Unshakable Journal here.

Is there a struggle, a weakness, or a burden you’ve been asking God to take away?
But it’s still there. It feels like it’s lingering, and it’s holding you back.

    You’re not alone.
The Apostle Paul felt the same way.

In this passage, Paul shares a deeply personal struggle—his “thorn in the flesh”—and how God responded not by removing it, but by offering a deeper promise:
“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”

In this week’s meditation, we’ll slow down with 2 Corinthians 12:7–10, reflecting on what it means to find unshakable strength not in ourselves but in God.

This is the eighth episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, we’re meditating on Scripture that anchors us in God’s truth and helps us stand firm in every season.

In this meditation on Unshakable Strength in Surrender, you’ll be invited to:
    • Reflect on a place in your life where you feel weak or burdened
    • Notice what God is saying to you through Paul’s words
    • Consider how God might be inviting you to trust Him more
    • Rest in the truth that His grace is not only enough—it is abundant

Your weakness is not the end of the story.
It’s the very place where God’s strength is most at work.

    Meditation Passage | 2 Corinthians 12:7–10 (NLT):

7 Even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.
8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away.
9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”
So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

  • Unshakable Freedom | Guided Meditation | John 8:31–36
    Jun 16 2025

Scripture Meditation | Lectio Divina | Freedom in Christ | John 8:31–36 (NLT)

Download your FREE Unshakable Journal here.

Have you ever felt stuck in a sin pattern you can’t seem to break?
Or found yourself turning to something that once comforted you… but now it’s become destructive and only leaves you feeling empty?

Jesus knows that these sin patterns promise relief—but only deliver bondage.
And in John 8, He offers something radically different:
    Freedom. Real freedom.

Not the freedom to chase our own desires, but the kind of freedom that comes from trusting and following Him.

In this week’s Scripture meditation, we’ll slow down with John 8:31–36 and listen to Jesus’s invitation to follow Him—a path that leads to true freedom.

This is the seventh episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, we’re turning to Scripture to uncover the peace and power that comes from standing on the truth of who God is—and who we are in Him.

In this meditation on Unshakable Freedom, you’ll be invited to:
    • Reflect on what Jesus means by “freedom”
    • Name areas where you may not feel free
    • Consider how sin or fear may be holding you back
    • Confess, trust, and receive the freedom Jesus offers

Whether you’re in a season of struggle or joy, I’m praying this meditation reminds you:
    You are free.
Because the Son has set you free.

    John 8:31-36, NLT
31 Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

33 “But we are descendants of Abraham,” they said. “We have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean, ‘You will be set free’?”

34 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. 35 A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

Have you ever found yourself at a loss for words to pray?
Too overwhelmed to know what to say?
Too weary to know where to begin?

Romans 8 offers us this beautiful promise: we are not alone in prayer. Even when we can’t find the words, the Holy Spirit is already praying for us—interceding with groans deeper than language, aligning our heartaches and hopes with the will of God.

In this week’s Scripture meditation, we’ll slow down with Romans 8:26–27, allowing this comforting truth to settle into our hearts: You are held in perfect prayer.

This is the sixth episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, we’re turning to Scripture to find peace and strength that isn’t rooted in our circumstances—but in God.

In this meditation on Unshakable: Held in Perfect Prayer, you’ll be invited to:
    • Identify what you’re currently praying about—or what you want to begin to pray about
    • Invite the Spirit to help you know how to pray
    • Sit in quiet and allow the Spirit to pray for you

  • Unshakable in God’s Power | Guided Meditation | Ephesians 6:10, 13–17
    Jun 2 2025

A Scripture meditation using Lectio Divina. Meditate on how to stand strong in our spiritual battles with Ephesians 6:10, 13–17

Get your FREE Unshakable Journal here.

We all face spiritual battles. Some are loud and obvious. Others are subtle and wear us down over time. In either case, we were never meant to fight in our own strength.

In this week’s Scripture meditation, we reflect on Ephesians 6:10, 13–17, where Paul gives us a powerful reminder: we are called to stand firm, not because we are strong, but because God is.

This isn’t a call to strive harder. It’s a call to be equipped. To recognize our vulnerabilities and take up the armor God provides so we can remain unshakable when the enemy attacks.

This is the fifth episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, we’re turning to Scripture to help us rely on God’s strength and remain grounded in His truth.

In this meditation on Unshakable in God’s Power, you’ll be invited to:
    • Reflect on where you may feel vulnerable to spiritual attack
    • Notice which piece of God’s armor you may need to strengthen
    • Learn what each piece of armor represents and how it helps you stand firm
    • Consider one practical step to take today toward walking in God’s strength
    • Rest in the truth that you are not alone—God is with you, and He is your strength

Whether you’re in the middle of a battle or simply preparing for one, may this time in God’s Word remind you that His power is more than enough.

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

  • Unshakable Together | Guided Meditation | Hebrews 10:23–25
    May 26 2025

A Guided Scripture meditation using Lectio Divina. Christian's become unshakable when we help and support each other.

Get your FREE Unshakable Journal here.

Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey.
In fact, we were created to walk together—to encourage one another, to keep showing up, and to hold tightly to hope, especially when life gets hard.

In this week’s Scripture meditation, we’ll slow down with Hebrews 10:23–25, a passage that calls us to live with faith, love, and spiritual connection. The early believers faced hardship and pressure to turn away from Jesus. The writer of Hebrews reminded them then—as we’re reminded now—that we need each other to stay strong.

This is the fourth episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, we’re turning to Scripture to help us stand firm in faith, rely on God’s strength, and find hope in His promises.

In this meditation on Unshakable Together, you’ll be invited to:
    • Reflect on the people who encourage you in your faith
    • Ask God to show you someone you can support or encourage
    • Honestly name the ways community can be hard or painful
    • Consider how God is inviting you to take one step forward in trust
    • Rest in the truth that community is one of the main ways God strengthens us

Whether you’re surrounded by community or longing for it, this meditation offers space to bring your heart honestly before God and hear His invitation to keep walking together.

    May 19 2025

A guided Scripture meditation using Lectio Divina. How can you have a flourishing faith? Psalm 1:1–3 tells us how.

We all long for stability—a life that can’t be easily shaken.
And yet, it’s surprisingly easy to drift. Whether it’s the constant stream of news, the demands of our to-do lists, the pull of people’s opinions, or simply our own self-reliance, we can find ourselves slowly swayed—sometimes without even noticing it.

Psalm 1 offers us a better way.

It paints a beautiful picture of the person who delights in God’s Word: like a tree planted by streams of water—deeply rooted, spiritually nourished, and steadily bearing good fruit.

In this Scripture meditation, we’ll slow down and reflect on Psalm 1:1–3, letting God’s Word re-center us and remind us where true blessing and strength come from—not from following the crowd, but from following Him.

This is the third episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, we’re turning to Scripture to help us stand firm in faith, rely on God’s strength, and hold onto hope.

In this meditation on Unshakably Rooted, you’ll be invited to:
    • Notice what influences might be pulling you away from God’s best
    • Reflect on what a life of blessing and flourishing could look like for you
    • Consider how God is inviting you to move toward that rooted life
    • Rest in His invitation to grow strong and steady in Him

Whether you're feeling grounded or feeling a drift, may this time in God’s Word help you become more deeply rooted in His love and truth.

Temptation is something we all face—sometimes in obvious ways, sometimes in subtle ones. Whether it’s the urge to react in anger, reach for a harmful habit, or rely on ourselves instead of God, the struggle is real. But so is God’s faithfulness.

In this Scripture meditation, we’re slowing down with 1 Corinthians 10:12–13, a passage that reminds us we’re not alone in our temptations—and that God always provides a way out. Paul’s words to the Corinthian church are full of warning, yes, but also incredible hope.

This is the second episode in Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, we’re meditating on Scriptures that help us live with strength and confidence in God’s unshakable character.

In this meditation on Unshakable in Temptation, you’ll be invited to:

    • Reflect on where you feel most vulnerable to temptation
    • Notice God’s faithfulness and how He provides a way out
    • Examine any pride or self-reliance you may be holding
    • Receive the strength and grace God offers when you struggle
    • Rest in the truth that you are not alone
