 Three-time Olympic bobsledder Kaillie Humphries is the only woman to win back to back Olympic gold medals as well as being a three-time World Champion. Having just completed the US National Trials, she is in the process of making the cut to compete in next year’s World Championships and the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. If you follow the sport you will know that prior to the 2018-19 season, Kaillie took the brave step to speak out about the harassment she faced from the governing body of professional Canadian bobsledding. She filed a lawsuit to be released from Canada’s national team in September, 2019 and joined Team USA. Like many female athletes in recent years, Kaillie risked her career to stand up publicly against a sports’ governing body. As one of Canada’s most decorated athletes of all-time, she made the difficult personal and professional choice to leave her home country. Kaillie is an example of how women should stand up to any form of abuse or harassment and remain resolute at defining their own journey.
