  • Summary

  • Here are two English creatives on a journey of sight and sound. This time we're making a run of film reviews. Now, we're not sticking to the rules of talking only about what is popular or hot in the cinema. We have a responsibility to find all kinds of films, especially those that may be slipping through the gaps, or movies that we love that nobody seems to remember. So from old to the new, from the bizarre and the downright bad. We're going to sit through all that we can, and we invite you to listen to our banter: coming from not only film fanatics but as lovers of the craft.

  • S10E10 Frame By Frame "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga"
    Aug 7 2024

Finally, it has taken us a few months to catch up with the rest of the world and watch the follow-up to the best movie of 2015. We do still take our sweet time to ramp up to the action as Andy and I struggle through our own real world adversities... and hopefully, next time, we might even nail the sound quality. RIP: Starbuck. Our cat. Named after Kara Thrace from Battlestar Galactica, and not the coffee. Succeeded by our other cat, aptly named, Khamala, also from Battlestar Galactica and nothing to do with any political slant we might have. Kinda.

  • S10E09 FRAME BY FRAME "Beverly Hill's Cop" Axel F
    Aug 6 2024

WARNING, NSFW or around children. This episode contains an exploration - with educational principles within context - of cursing within movies.

Rough sound but here we are here to talk about the new Axel F movie. We cover all bases, and we learn a lot about old people shaming. Get it on!

  • S10E08 FRAME BY FRAME - SILENT RUNNING & A TRIBUTE TO DONALD SUTHERLAND
    Jul 8 2024

We finally did it. We got together to talk about Silent Running - and it was an emotionally heavy discussion. Just when you thought you knew enough about a movie, then I come bounding in with my size 12 old man's slippers and add, the watering can story to the mix. We then delve into an unlikely connection with the passing of Donald Sutherland. A loss that is felt deeply worldwide.
