  • Happy Times and Places 93.1 - The Keeper of Traken 1
    Jul 3 2025

All round good and smart guy Dr Tom Attah casts an adoring eye over The Keeper of Traken in this podcast which goes about its day simply by featuring people being terribly nice about Doctor Who stories. But what is the aspect of this story that Dr Tom will be especially terribly nice about?

  • Who's Round BONUS - Gareth Berliner
    Jun 29 2025

To tie in with the Happy Times and Places release of The Woman Who Lived here is an interview with Gareth Berliner, who plays the coachman in the opening scene. Gareth and Toby go back a long way, so it's a lovely old chat. Since this was recorded, Gareth's wife has ALSO been in Doctor Who (she's in The Interstellar Song Contest): so it's a family affair.

  • Happy Times and Places 92.2 - The Woman Who Lived
    Jun 26 2025

Your host got up close and personal with this episode, and he's up close and personal with someone in it as well. Does this insight mean that he'll have any advantage over guest, Joel Aarons? Listeners will have to bear with this episode as alas it is slightly glitchy, with the odd skipped syllable or two due to a wrtehced cable. Apparently you'll get used to it is test listeners are to be believbed, but apologies that it isn't up to the usual technical standard.

This is a wonderful podcast, and one of my go to comforts. Toby is all at once a polymath in the Whoniverse but also a very down to earth and non-condecending voice in the community. It's a podcast full of heart, rock hard knowledge and charming befuddlemant. In an increasingly dull and hermoginised world its very much a happy time and place.

Warm, insightful, fun

Toby your podcasts are amazing and engaging insights into each and every episode. People who have watched his moderation and documentary on dvd and bluray releases of Doctor Who episodes will already know this. You are one of the fonts of all knowledge when it comes to Doctor Who. I cannot fault it. Always look forward to the next installment

Toby’s commentary is outstanding. The wealth of knowledge about the actors and the series is awesome and makes for a very interesting listen for fans of the show.

Fascinating in depth knowledge

It’s so refreshing to hear a Doctor Who podcast which accentuates the positive rather than descending into moaning.
Not only that, but Toby is such a font of knowledge, telling you everything you could ever possibly want to know and maybe a few things you never knew you wanted to know. Even when you goes off topic, there’s a charm to him that makes you enjoy the tangents all the more.
Perfect listening to make you fall in love with the programme all over again.

Positively informative

I thought I knew a lot about classic Doctor Who but Toby Hadoke is in another league. His story reviews are excellent but it's the stand alone podcasts looking at one random aspect or theme in the show which at their best are sublime, especially his reminiscences of his childhood fandom. Maybe not a podcast for the casual viewer, but if think you know all about the whoniverse, think again, and enjoy. Happy times and places indeed.
