Summary
Mo Collins survived the beginning of the zombie apocalypse by doing nothing but staying on the replica pirate ship the Viva Ancora. But after what he thought was a chance meeting of another survivor, Smokes, everything changed.
Mo has become the hero in a story seemingly channeled by Smokes. Following what sounds like a prewritten script, Mo and Smokes gathered a motley crew of typical zombie apocalypse survivors. Well, typical, except the zombies in this screenplay are called peevies, and are not dead but blue, naked, shit spewing infected humans who are rapidly evolving into sadistic monsters that will rip you apart and eat you slowly.
With the help of the expert, the tech, the old friend, and the oracle, they have defended their new island home from zombie hordes, betrayers, and villainous dictators. Oh, and they survived a plane crash while rescuing Mo’s brother. Who said being the hero would be easy.
But now this group of protagonists have set sail on a quest to find a supposed cure for the infection. What new adventures will they encounter? What new dangers will they find? Will they find new friends? New foes? Will Smokes find more Newport’s?
Follow Mo and his crew on their continuing adventures as they try to tempt fate and chart their way down the river.
In waters where the fish bite, the Zombies bite...and sometimes life bites.

Outstanding
As my headline says.....outstanding. Outstandingly book and narration. I forgot to mention this on my review for book 4.....I love the narrator’s voice for the Medicine Man when he’s wearing the Darth Vadar mask.....absolute genius! I love all the science fiction mentions....this is one of the reasons this series appeals to me, I am a proud nerd! Plus Javan gives mentions to other Indie authors which is really lovely.
I am eagerly awaiting book 6.....you guys cannot produce it fast enough for me lol. Thank you. My favourite audible series.

Pirate ship on a river & blue naked zombies!
Another great addition to the series! Mo and crew are sailing their pirate ship off to the coast in the hopes of finding a crazy smart scientist who supposedly has a cure for this blue zombie epidemic. I loved that we started with Mo and crew and then had small snapshots of some of the new people we met in the previous book. Mo is the character I care about the most and the previous book didn’t give us enough Mo time.
And things are shaking up with the blunatics! Perhaps they are more than mindless nudist cannibals. But Mo and crew have no clue. I really look forward to seeing where things go with this little plot twist.
Back home, Mo’s parents are facing a serious issue. Kids keep going missing! The reader knows who is responsible, but the folks back home having figured it out. So I hope they can discover the villain before the crowd turns on them, blaming them for weak leadership, etc.
I do want a little more from the ladies. They do plenty, action wise except for Mo’s girlfriend, but they rarely have lines. The guys talk and talk and talk, and not just Mo. But the ladies rarely get to say anything.
Overall, this zombiedy series is still my favorite in this subgenre. 4.75/5 stars.
The Narration: S. W. Salzman continues to impress. I love his deep Alabama voice for Mo. He also gives us a great Rorschach (from The Watchmen) voice for a minor character. His female voices are believable and all characters have a distinct voice. There were no tech issues with the recording. 5/5 stars.
I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review; my opinions are 100% my own.

Not My Brother’s Zombies
Whoa! We are learning more and more about these Blunatics. They are getting grosser and shoot so are the people, not our Good Guys of course. I don’t think I can ever say I’ve heard it all when it comes to Zombies, because Javan keeps throwing curve balls at me. I really enjoy the Cast of Characters at the end of the books, really keeps with the whole “movie” theme. And this one had an even nicer surprise at the end. Guess you will have to read it to find out what it was. Salzman, your voices gosh, such an array and so on point!

Graphic, cringeworthy - but utterly unputdownable!
Well what can I say - book 5 follows on from the previous books with gusto - there are blue naked PV's - there is action from page one to the end and a Power Rangers pun, which I have to admit getting before it was fully revealed - a completely different zompoc - give it a try!

Alive and kicking blue zombie ass
This series just keeps getting better and better. Mo and the other main protagonists have taken the Viva Ancora toward the ocean to try to rescue a doctor who might have a "cure". While they're gone someone is taking the island's children, who and why is the question. The peevees are evolving again and now they're becoming even more dangerous. Benji and Devin are using their piloting abilities to search the area for more survivors while destroying as many peevees as possible. The ending is in a place that will have you cussing at the author and impatiently waiting for the next book in this amazing series. The narrator nails the voices spot on and kept me enthralled the entire book.
