Summary
I’ll hunt down a hidden enemy and protect a love from my past.
Will I claim my second chance at love?
Andreas betrayed me once, and I walked away. Now he’s returned, asking me for protection from a stalker. I have to throttle anger, restrain lust - just focus on the job. But he’s not just a job. He’s the man I refuse to let get away a second time.
If I have to guard him with my body, then in return I want his soul. We were friends then enemies, but now I must try and forgive past sins.
Can we hate each other and still be lovers? I know one thing. If I can’t focus on keeping him alive, it’s game over.

Enjoyable
New to me narrator who I found enjoyable. Jake and Andreas were school friends until Jake's sister is assaulted BY Andreas friends and he sticks up for them. Many years later Andreas and his daughter are being threatened when he testified against a friend, he hires Jake to be his daughter's bodyguard and they fall in love.

Enjoyable 4.5 stars
If I don't own the book I'm listening to, I will usually borrow it on KU, particularly if it is a long narrative. This is a relatively short audiobook, so I took a chance on listening alone (I have a hearing impairment). It was fine even though the narrator, Robin Woodson, is new to me. I found him to be clear spoken and he reads at just the right pace.
It took a couple of chapters to get into the story. Jake and Andreas are both likeable main characters and, once they cleared up and owned past mistakes (Andreas), they quickly fell into a relationship. This is the first time with a man for Andreas, one of my favourite tropes. The scenes between them are hot and well written.
I will definitely carry on with this series.
