About this listen
It all started with a broken classroom heater....
Graduate school prepares you for many things - the rigor of academic life, how to pull consecutive all-nighters, and living off a meager stipend without having to be roommates with cockroaches.
Elle Graft might have made it through six years of graduate school, but she's not convinced she'll survive her first position as an Assistant Professor. Because for all she learned, graduate school never prepared her for dealing with a student crush.

I have always been endeared to Elle and Hunter.
I was not at all disappointed.
I loved their story just as much as I did when I read it years ago.
Great writing as always by Eliza.
Great narration.
Absolutely loved it.
Can’t wait for the next instalment.
Super!

Unfortunately having an audiobook narrated by a reader with such a distinctive lispy delivery is a distraction and does not help bring the best out of this novel. It also fails to add much needed warmth to the characters and the story.
IMO Eliza Lentzski is a decent writer but seems to be attempting a work of literary fiction with this novel. She writes in a rather cool and distanced, somewhat cerebral style which did not make any of the characters sympathetic to me. Although I thought the story line was good, I feel Eliza Lentzski fails at to reach the standard of a literary novel, maybe because she needs to be more precise with her writing, or hire a better editor, or possibly because I'm English and we use words and create phrases differently.
Lots of psychological drama spoilt by narrator
