I loved this cleverly written book. It was engaging from the beginning until the end.
The main character becomes enticingly immoral as the story unfolds, creating a thrilling and addictive read!
I have read several of Philippa Gregory’s novels and now I want to read them all!

My mind body and soul could not continue this book. it's one thing to read about a villain from afar but actually walking in the shoes of a villain was highly uncomfortable. On the flip side it is this distributing because it was well written...3 stars only as I couldn't enjoy it

A sick and twisted book

It was clever and bolted along at a good pace, but I found Beatrice to be difficult company.

Distracted, too, by the narrator’s mispronunciation of words like ‘covert’, ‘breeches’ and ‘waistcoat’.

Overall ok, entertaining, but I’m not rushing to the rest of the trilogy. I prefer the later works, which have more dimensions to them. This was very one note, played over and over.

I think I prefer Philippa Gregory’s later books

I cannot believe as an avid reader that I have never read a Philippa Gregory novel before, Wideacre was unputdownable, gripping and so very clever. Ms Gregory has a new fan.HIGHLY recommended.
