About this listen
Why It's OK to Talk About Trauma is the book your brain, body and future self need to listen to. 1 in 2 people experience trauma at some point in their lives. Trauma can be a result of anything which causes fear, helplessness and horror.
Broadcaster and abuse survivor Charlie Webster uses her own lived experience alongside advice from experts to create a companion for trauma survivors – a book that will help, explain, understand and navigate the impact of trauma on our lives.
As someone who has experienced multiple traumas, Charlie has crafted the book she longed for when she was working through her traumatic past. She shares her story whilst providing insight, support and tools to help trauma sufferers and their loved ones.
A brave book. A must read. Really Recommend. Practical tips to work through your trauma.

I listened to the body keeps the score a few years ago, which is clearly written for people who treat people like me. I learned a lot, but it made me feel like I'd always be broken. I mean it says as much in the book. That left a grey cloud over my head for a while and I avoided picking up books on mental health for a long time. I am so glad I chose to listen to this one, and grateful to Charlie for sharing her experience and her journey to be more healthy. To hear from someone who's actually gone through it, and is speaking to you from a survivor's perspective. It's exactly the companion book I needed right now. Even though I know what's going on with me, you sometimes need a reminder and someone to explain and validate what you're going through isn't your fault. Having a wellness plan, and knowing I'm not alone, having Charlie's voice in your ears, is more powerful than I ever realised.
There will be more flowers. Thank you Charlie.
So grateful, from someone with CPTSD
