About this listen
As with The Call of the Wild, White Fang explores a world in which animals and men depend on each other for survival. The story of a dog who is part wolf has lasted because Jack London gives each of his animals a personality. London's narratives are more than epics of hardship and survival; the are morality plays in which virtuous good triumphs over corrupt evil.
Public Domain (P)1982 Jimcin RecordingsThe narrator speaks in a monotone drawl conveying no emotion or interest. By far the worst reading I have heard in any book downloaded from Audible. Even worse than most free audiobooks narrated by amateurs in their kitchens that are available on some websites.
As well as the dreary voice, the narrator frequently mixes the words 'dog' and 'god' - both of which feature prominently in this book, often leading to confusion when both appear close to eachother.
To be avoided (although as the story is excellent, a different recording of the same is to be recommended).
Shame about the narration
