About this listen
Dare you close your eyes for even a few seconds? One, two, three...
Lisa Dale shuts her eyes and counts to 100 during a game of hide-and-seek. When she opens them, her four-year-old daughter, Ella, is gone. Disappeared without a trace. The police, the media and Lisa's family all think they know who snatched Ella. But what if the person who took her isn't a stranger? What if they are convinced they are doing the right thing? And what if Lisa's little girl is in danger of disappearing forever?

"A beautifully crafted novel of knife-edge suspense that held my attention to the very end. I wanted to compare the author to Gillian Flynn or Alice Sebold, but that wouldn't be right. This book is one 100 percent Linda Green, and Linda Green is bloody brilliant!" (Amanda Prowse, #1 best-selling author)
"The suspense becomes quite unbearable - and there's a final flourish in the form of a very punchy twist. A terrifyingly plausible story, that will have parents looking over their shoulders." (Sunday Mirror)

Excellent
Great story and great narration. Very sad in parts. Muriel understandably list her mind under the circumstances. My only criticism of seemed to end abruptly. I would like to have heard more about the consequences of Muriels actions. I would highly recommend this book and it will keep you listening. Not a boring bit in it..

Well written but too long
This book was well written and fantastically narrated but was too long, it would have been a fabulous short story but as a novel is just dragged. I loved the three narrators but found Muriel’s sections boring and I fast forwarded through much of it. The story is heart wrenching and believable but I felt it was too drawn out.

A mothers nightlmare
I was hooked immediately heart wrenching.
The narrators were amazing it was like watching a movie with your eyes closed. 5* I will be getting all the authors books if they're as good as this 😃

Slow! didn't feel any anticipation or excitement
I struggled to stick with this book as it was very drawn out. I did however enjoy the narrating. At times I did feel for the family listening to their fears and desperation while waiting to hear if their daughter is dead or a life.
I figured out the twist before it was revealed so I would say a little predictable. I will try this writer again but will take heed to the negative reviews.
I like a book to grip me from the get go, a book I can't put down because I'm desperate to find out what is happening etc....sadly this wasn't it!

Great potential but not as good as her other books
I loved the storyline but it was quite slow to get started and then after waiting so long for a resolution it was pretty disappointing as there was hardly a minute dedicated to what you’d been waiting for the entire time.

Have shares this with everyone I know!
Such a beautiful, moving and honest performance of loss, grief and forgiveness. Sad at times interlocked with dark comic moments. I loved how each of the characters' stories interlocked like pieces of a puzzle whilst unravelling the full overlapping story between the two families.
