About this listen

This prequel to Wayward Galaxy begins as the world ends…

The colony ship Boone has launched for the planet Amir. Two more ships, hidden in a secret base in Africa, hasten their own plans to leave Earth as global war spirals toward a terminal doomsday.

But RUPAC forces are seeking to prevent further launches, and in order to escape, Jack Hughes—Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman turned private military contractor—and his team of contractors must fight against local terrorist militias, RUPAC regulars…and the deep fear that everything and everyone they're fighting for is on the verge of annihilation.

As the enemy closes and Jack faces overwhelming odds, only his ability as an operator, his determination to get his team out alive, and the help of an advanced AI named Brody provide any hope of survival.

The world is ending, but Jack Hughes still has a job to do.

Fast pace story to battle RUPAC and then to depart earth. The action never stops. The humor is good throughout, but then to get the return of....... oh my word! I could not stop laughing my neighbours came knocking to see why LMAO.
I have to go listen to book one and the series again is just brilliant writing. love it.

Great final chapter to close off this Epic story. Last is first if you get it, to the chopper!

I was a little miffed that the narrator had changed. But due to the characters almost all being new it didn’t matter. And RC Bray slayed it again as Brody.

It’s a great origin book.

Some good action on the ground and in space put the narrative which was full of in-jokes and US military lingo, doesn’t really gel. I found myself having to regularly rewind because I missed cliffhangers which the author tries to bring into the middle of uninteresting storylines. Narration was good but again mainly because of the in jokes..

Some action, but the narrative doesn’t gel

the narrator was very good as usual but the story didn't add much if anything to the saga. just another fight
