iv alway been a big fan of the original Sherlock Holmes stories and indeed have them all on audio book ( narrated by the brilliant Steven fry ).
These books are just as good as the originals!
They all follow the same thread as sherlocks adventures but all with a magical and humorous twist.
I bought the first book on a chance in a two for one sale.
less that 24 hours later I was back for the whole set.
I highly recommend these book for anyone with a love of the originals and a good sense of humour.

Another about Holmes origins,
Then a further for expanding upon the enemies motivations
This book feels like it does little to draw us to the conclusion we were promised in the first book.
Instead we are treated to the usual short stories filled with expanded lore and motivations, which while enjoyable to listen to did not add anything of consequence.
Likewise, the major story of this book, a parody of the sign of four, is an interesting retelling yet it has added nothing to the overarching story, nor has anything to do with the "nine" objects we were intrigued with last, other than to move one of our main characters.
Maybe these stories could have been better suited to a post conclusion expansion book
