A wonderful talk by a great journalist who understands the Middle East and is courageous enough to tell the truth.

Robert Fisk, as ever, shines a much needed light on the Wests century long meddling in the Middle East.

Practically all of its current problems are down to colonialism, Israel and Whabissim out of Saudi.

An Absolute Must Listen

I enjoyed this enough to kick start an interest in reading more. However the audio quality is diabolical.

Good book, terrible audio

This book is an extended lecture by Robert Fisk presented to a live & clearly knowledgeable audience. There's an interesting 20 minute Q&A session at the end & an introduction by Noam Chomsky. Fisks speaks about his war time reporting in the Middle East and draws interesting parallels between the current American interference & attempts at domination on the one hand & on the other the imperial adventures of Britain & Rome in the same arena. Despite the dreadful suffering of the people in the Middle East & his own direct experience of the horror & danger, Fisk delivers his lecture in a cheerful & brisk manner. Don't bother resding the NY or London Times if you want to understand what's going on in the world, listen to this lecture & read his book.

It's short and massively informative, as you'd expect. Robert Fisk speaking to a live audience and taking questions. I wish there was more Fisk on Audible. I'm glad there's so much Chomsky. I find it hard to read non-fiction but I love to listen to it. It's like a great lecture because it is a great lecture.

I'd highly recommend everyone read Robert Fisk. Unlike some would be experts from Facebook and the like who comment on the Middle East Robert eats sleeps and breathes politics of the Middle East. I admire his views and opinions abo ve all others.

Always enlightenment with Mr Fisk

A news reporter telling news stories, not a history of middle east, as expected and searched for.

The audio quality is terrible which makes it very hard to hear and understand the content.
Nobody should have to pay for it. Amazon audible needs to remove it as a paying audible.

Worst audible I listened to
