About this listen

Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. Raised in rural New Hampshire by her widowed father, Andrew, she now has a young daughter, a handsome fiancé, and her own search-and-rescue bloodhound, which she uses to find missing persons. But as Delia plans her wedding, she is plagued by flashbacks of a life she can't recall. And then a policeman knocks on her door, revealing a secret that changes the world as she knows it.

What happens when you learn you are not who you thought you were? When the people you've loved and trusted suddenly change before your eyes? When getting your deepest wish means giving up what you've always taken for granted? Vanishing Acts explores how life as we know it might not turn out the way we imagined; how doing the right thing could mean doing the wrong thing; and how the memory we thought had vanished could return as a threat.

jodi is my favourite writer. Always has been. but this book is just OK. it isn't her best story line. but I don't regret part listening and reading to it.
the story line wasn't the best.
each to their own.
I didn't feel like I connected very well to some of the narrators and I think that makes all the difference when listening to audio books.

Great, but no where near her best.

Can’t give an opinion on the full story as narration was so awful I could not continue. All narrators had saliva mouths and kept swallowing. YUK

Awful narration

Usually I love anything by Jodi Picoult, but I struggled with this book. I felt the story jumped around from present day to past and person to person too much to flow as an easy read. The subject matter was interesting, the twist and turns kept me listing.

I have enjoyed other books more

In some ways I liked the multiple narrators and others ways I didn’t.
Found Andrew’s character was not developed enough, narration of him wasn’t that interesting, and the conclusion was fine but as I’d expect. I was hoping for a bit more.
I really did not like the sections that were just lists of things or people.

Bit dull
