About this listen
Life is similar to a train journey. Most people on the train are merely passengers; they are simply going where life is taking them. They are not in charge of their speed, direction, or final destination. If the heading of the train pleased and delighted its passengers, then perhaps you could envy them.
However, the sad truth is that the many people are entirely unhappy with the direction and impetus of their life's journey. Of course, they could invest in themselves and learn to be a driver, but that would involve accepting responsibility and risk. People would rather accept mediocrity and consequently have someone else to blame.
Be the driver, not a passenger! Drivers are upfront, occupying the best seat. They are in full control of the speed and destination of their lives. These inspirational and rare people are responding to life, not just reacting to life. They are carving out a breathtaking journey. They are not only sitting back and waiting to see what life throws at them.
Don't think there is much difference between responding and reacting? When the doctor sees the medicine is working, he declares that the patient is responding to treatment. There is a huge difference between this and the doctor reporting that the patient is reacting to the medicine.

After my last bad review, at the beginning of the year, I picked this up without any great expectations, but still hopeful that I'd find something different.
So here's the thing.
If you are new to Craig Beck, then you will undoubtedly get a lot from it. His delivery is outstanding, he makes some great points and you will feel inspired as a result of listening.
However, if you have listened to his previous work recently, then you will notice a great deal of repeat content, and this is where he loses his points.
Craig Beck has produced many books, but I am yet to find one that differs significantly from the other.
It's like he's dragged some clips from his recording archive, stitched them together in a different order and republished them with a new name.
This is a shame, and as such I will be sending this book back too.
I would love to hear something completely new, I think there is a great message there, and as such it is somewhat disappointing when I spend my money to listen to the same old anecdotes, quotes and words of wisdom which you hear in almost every other presentation.
Craig Beck, are you reading this because I'm looking forward to some new material, please?
Same content, different order.
