About this listen
A fresh, insightful guide to reading body language in the post-digital age
Whether you're at a job interview or a cocktail party, searching LinkedIn, or swiping right on a dating site, you want (no - need) to understand what people are really thinking, regardless of what they're saying. Understanding what others are trying to tell you with their posture, hand gestures, eye contact (or lack thereof), or incessant fiddling with their iPhone might all be even more important than what you're projecting yourself. Do they plan on making a deal with your company? Are they lying to you? Can you trust this person with your most intimate secrets? Knowing what others are thinking can tell you when to run with an opportunity and when not to waste your time, whether at work, in a crucial negotiation or on a promising first date.
Best-selling authors Mark Bowden and Tracey Thomson, principals at the communications company Truthplane, illustrate the essential points of body language with examples from everyday life, leavened with humor and insights that you can use to your advantage in virtually any situation.

Couldn't put it down
This book was brilliant, both the writing and voice acting went well together. Easy but fulfilling listen.

Good, could have been great.
Hi, My name is Emma and I've read literally thousands of books on this and all related subjects. This was an enjoyable listen and I would recommend it. However, and I apologize to Tracey here I am not familiar with your work so cannot comment.
We all know in this age there is no research we cannot access online in any form, written, youtube, blog, studies, books, audible.
What transforms good to great is the delivery, MARK, you have got where you are today not just because of your knowledge and insights but how you share that information. You are charismatic, engaging and have a gift so I'm sad you didn't narrate this book, it would have been a completely different experience for the "listener"
I invite you to listen to a few chapters of the same Brene Brown book on audible, firstly the ones narrated by someone else, then by her, trust me the experience is worlds apart. She re-released them on audible and it was worth paying twice, it elevated them from okay to fantastic.
I am not saying your narrator was poor, he one of the better ones but doh!! You have a USP but didn't use it?
Again apologies to Tracey.
I, as an listener with thousands of books under my belt implore "most" authors to narrate your own work.

This is about dating, pure and simple
I was kind of disappointed. I've listened to Mark Bowden's talks and he is undoubtedly a genius. But I'm not interested in dating and I should have read the reviews. I wish he had either made it clear on the cover, or in the title, what the book's main focus was. Those of us not interested in dating *might* be able to benefit but I couldn't see how.
Also - given that Mark is such a prominent personage, I would have preferred to hear him reading it himself. Or, if that wasn't possible, for the reader to at least try to copy Mark's intonation. Narration jars at the moment - once again it might not jar for anyone else - but I found that by chapter 3 I couldn't take it any more. Maybe it's just me. If Mark is reading this, please write another book for ordinary people just wanting to detect truth or lies in their everyday work lives.

Awful narration
I want so much to finish this audiobook but I find it so hard to focus because the narrator he is..."singing", not narrating. very bad choice of narrator for the specific subject.

Nothing learned
What a disappointment this was. I was looking forward to digesting its contents but found it to be very repetitive and lacked any insight to anything useful. By chapter 4 I felt like simply deleting it but trudged on to no avail. Very poor content
