Tady pracuje značná část obyvatel silně religiózního kraje, dodnes poznamenaného rozdělením Těšínska po první světové válce. Žijí zde potomci mladých mužů, kteří kdysi museli narukovat do wehrmachtu. Nekorektně psaný text bez příkras vás vtáhne do děje a nepustí, dokud charismatický major nevyřeší všechny vraždy.
