Summary
Trapped for the past 14 years in a time not his own, Ryder Lucore jumps at the chance to go back to the future to be reunited with the father and brother he left behind. However, when he arrives he discovers the future is not what it's cracked up to be. People and things have changed, and not in a good way. Now he is stuck here with no way to return back to the time he now misses.
Torin Hamilton's day wasn't going well - and gets worse when she receives a mysterious 19th century jewelry box. Its contents leave her completely baffled and concerned for her friend's welfare. What she saw couldn't be real.
Torin's concern for her friend deepens when she receives a strange phone call that has her rushing to Heartsbridge, Texas, looking for answers.
When she arrives, she meets up with Ryder, and together they go on a journey of loss, love and discovery, as secrets are revealed about a past he'd wanted to forget.

Back to the future... interesting and emotional.
I haven't listened to or read the whole Timeless Hearts series but I did listen to Book 4. The characters and storyline overlap a bit and I think I enjoyed this book more because of my prior knowledge of the characters.
Ryder time travelled to the late 1800s when he was a boy. As an adult he found his way back to the future, only more than 20 years after he left. So much has changed from what he remembered but his family from the 1800s reach out through time to make his transition easier. This assistance includes introducing him to Raven's (from Book 4) friend Torin.
Sparks fly as Torin helps Ryder assimilate to the future. Their chemistry is undeniable but they both have big decisions to make.
I enjoyed the emotional journey Sandra E Sinclair takes us on. This isn't just a story about romantic love. It is also about family and friendship. It is interesting to read Ryder's observations of our world and the interesting contrasts he points out with his past.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
