Another Great Story
Story very engaging. Many twists and turn. I always fall in love with the characters and this author evokes emotions effortlessly. My only negative was Amanda's voice - horrendous!

Emotional roller coaster
It's been a few years since I'd last read a Karin Slaughter and I'd forgotten how much I love her novels! This one was just a gut punch. Initially the narrator's accent was not quite what I expected but it turned out to be perfect. Can't wait to catch up on what used to be and has become again, my favourite author

Another show stopper
Wow—what a ride. This Is Why We Lied is Karin Slaughter at her absolute best: sharp, tense, emotionally layered, and utterly impossible to put down. I picked it up expecting a good thriller, but what I got was a masterclass in suspense and storytelling.
The characters are complex and real, especially the central figure whose past and present unravel in such a compelling way. Slaughter doesn’t shy away from the dark corners of human nature, and she weaves trauma, justice, and loyalty into a narrative that keeps you guessing until the final page. Just when I thought I had it figured out—bam—another twist.
I also loved how the setting added to the atmosphere. It was haunting, claustrophobic at times, and felt like a character in itself. The pacing was pitch-perfect, the writing taut and vivid, and the emotional punches? Brutal in the best way.
If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers with real depth, this one is a must-read.

Absolutely fantastic.
Another brilliantly written book. I’ve read her books for many years and never disappoints. this one was narrated so well and the story line was well executed.

Another Blinder from Ms. Slaughter
Fantastic locked room mystery. Unfortunately I had the killer pegged from the get go, but it didn't detract from the incredible story. Great performance and excellent further character development of the main crew.
