Good story

In places, the plot did become ridiculous. Some interesting ideas, and mostly entertaining. A decent mystery. Great narration.

Unresolved

This book could have been great if all issues were fully resolved in a satisfying way. Some threads left hanging and the ending did not make sense. Everything happens in the last ten minutes which is such a shame as the build ups were beautifully constructed and full of tension.

Good but not great?!

The narrator was great, I really liked her voice and tone and enjoyed listening to her. Narration is important and can really make/break it. Undecided about the book, overall enjoyed it and was waiting at times, not wanting to put it down, to find out what happens next. It chopped and changed a lot though and I had to rewind a bit to make sure I was on top of what was actually happening. Some parts predictable and then everything building up and happening at the end, completely taking unexpected turns. Cliff hanger ending I think was the aim but left feeling like it all went a strange direction I wasn’t expecting and not sure I enjoyed the outcomes of it all at all. All a bit macabre plot wise. Overall though it was a good listen.

So good I couldn't wait to finish it

I've been a fan of Holly Seddon's since book 1. In this latest book, I loved experiencing the way that Holly has developed as a writer, with confidence and gusto.
At certain points, the language used seems natural and easy, however, the topics it surrounds are sometimes dark and shocking, Holly navigates this with delicacy and with an obvious consideration for the reader/listener.

Sad that the story ended, can't wait for the next book!

Good ending

Easy listening, well narrated story. I thought for a while it might all be too predictable but actually the ending was a satisfying change from the usual.
