Summary

Just four words were printed in the card. He doesn’t love you.

I’ve been dreaming about this day - marrying Adam, my childhood sweetheart, who I’ve loved for 18 years. I didn’t realize the perfect day would turn into the perfect nightmare.

I was so excited to send out the wedding invitations, carefully writing everyone’s names on thick cream paper in beautiful cursive script. I had no idea I was inviting someone to destroy our marriage.

I couldn’t wait to say ‘I do’ surrounded by loved ones clinking champagne glasses. I couldn’t imagine that one of them would try to hurt me. It was meant to be the first day of the rest of our lives.

I never thought it would be the end of my life as I knew it.

We were meant to share our vows, to toast our future. But when the truth comes out, shocking the onlooking guests and ripping my heart out, is a happy ever after possible?

Fans of Date Night, The Sister-in-Law, and The Girl on the Train will devour this!

An Easy and entertaining read

My first book by this author. Once I started I couldn’t stop, I had to discover the ending. The short chapters made it flow well and easy to read in one go. Yes it was clear by the half way point who the perpetrator was but there was enough twisting and intrigue to keep you reading. The ending was a bit far fetched but overall it’s an enjoyable book. More mystery than a psychological thriller.

Gripping!

Brilliant! The best audio book I've listened to in a while. I couldn't stop listening which led to a very late night! Well drawn characters and lots of twists and turns.

Jealousy comes in more colours than green.........

This is probably the 3rd or 4th book that I have listened to from Ruth Heald, so have really got a feel for her style of writing.
Quite creepy/ disturbing in parts and I THOUGHT I'd sussed it..... but no..........
Narration was really good as I think that can make or break the enjoyment of an audiobook

Very good thriller

The wedding by Ruth Heald was an enjoyable story, filled with many twists and turns. It had me guessing all the way through. Narration by Tamsin Kennard was superb as always. I would highly recommend this easy to read/ listen to book.

Yawn

Repetition … predictable and not at all a thriller … characters weak and storyline unbelievable. I persevered with the book as I was gardening, could have fallen asleep for a couple of hours and still not missed anything in the plot …

Well read but such weak characters

I did manage to finish this novel but what a dreadfully weak set of characters. Who on earth wants to marry such a weak man? The past is the past and 'tis always best to reveal at the start than to be found out later. Not that he did anything dreadful so why not come clean. Our past is what defines us, warts and all but this bunch seem to have too many secrets and not enough backbone to claim them. Good narration was a bonus but I guessed the end long before the denouement so actually wonder why I persisted to the end.

Weak

8.5 hrs of listening to a neurotic woman planning her wedding and all the details associated with that!
Oh yes, and then there is a little time where something interesting happens.
