Summary

Science has now proved the legendary Wim Hof method of breath control and cold training can dramatically enhance energy levels, improve circulation, reduce stress, boost the immune system, strengthen the body, and successfully combat many diseases. While Wim Hof himself has run marathons in -30 degress Celsius in shorts, swum hundreds of meters under the ice, sat in a tank of ice for 90 minutes without his core temperature changing, and boosted his metabolism by more than 300 percent, The Way of the Iceman documents how anyone can use Wim’s methods to transform his or her health and strength quickly and safely.

“After teaching specialized breathing techniques to SEALs for years, helping them focus, stay warm in the cold ocean and get centered in combat, I can attest to the authenticity and power of Wim Hof's methods. Wim Hof is providing a great service with his new book The Way of The Iceman by bringing breath training and simple, powerful health practices into mainstream consciousness.” (Mark Divine, US Navy SEAL (ret), founder of SEALFIT, best-selling author of Unbeatable Mind and Way of the SEAL)

Critic reviews

"I am continuously searching for ways to expand my mind, body and spirit - Wim Hof and The Way of the Iceman have done just that! He shows us that human potential is limitless and we are ALL capable of anything we set our minds to.” (Lewis Howes, New York Times best-selling author of The School of Greatness)

“What fascinates me most about Wim Hof's method is the potential application for athletes.... [T]he science in this book shows that we can all amplify our recovery, maximize our pain tolerance, massively jack up energy levels and even learn to control inflammation...and it can be done without resorting to toxic drugs. In fact, the system outlined in this manual might just be the key to producing a generation of enhanced but drug-free athletes.” (Paul “Coach” Wade, author of Convict Conditioning)

excellent

Loved it. Well narrated, albeit slightly fast. Informative and inspiring. You get to know about Wim and his incredible story of how he came to be known as the Iceman. Learn his techniques for breathing and cold exposure to retrain the body to protect and heal itself.

Worth the listen

I've been doing WHM for over 2 years now. This book gives you a good introduction and doesn't over complicate the science behind it.
Having an autoimmune disease, I'm aware of the benefits as well as having a good understanding of tbe science behind the method.

Fascinating Read my kind of story

I didn't realise that there lots more to the Ice man.
I thought he was an individual that can endure the cold and that's it, but there is a whole method which he has shared with the world, which is amazing.

A Back up to Wim Hof Method

Ok, I was already a convert to the benefits of the Wim Hof Method, so no great revelations. What I did find is that the emphasis is less about Wim and more about the science to back up the method. If you want to get straight into the nuts and bolts this is your book. I also liked the personal story so I have both books and ignore the crossover.
